AI Usage Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Cynaps is a clinical decision-support and documentation platform. It is not a medical device and does not practise medicine. This policy governs how AI features may be used on the Service and applies to every user, alongside our Terms of Service.
1. The clinician stays in the loop
- In line with National Medical Commission (NMC) professional-conduct and telemedicine practice guidelines, the Registered Medical Practitioner retains absolute, non-delegable responsibility for every clinical decision.
- AI outputs — answers, differentials, interpretations, drafts — are decision support, not diagnoses or prescriptions.
- Every AI-drafted document (visit summaries, consent forms, certificates, referrals, discharge notes, handouts) must be reviewed and approved by the treating clinician before it is issued or sent to a patient. Delivering unreviewed AI output directly to patients is prohibited.
2. Grounded generation
Clinical answers are synthesized from retrieved evidence — peer-reviewed literature, guidelines and standard texts — with citations you can open. Where evidence is insufficient, the assistant is designed to say so rather than guess. Your content is never used to train or fine-tune foundational models (see the Privacy Policy).
3. Data minimisation
- Do not paste direct patient identifiers — names, phone numbers, Aadhaar or ABHA numbers, exact addresses — into open chat fields. Use abstract terms (e.g. “72yo F”).
- Structured tools (records, summaries) handle identified data under the DPDP Act; open chat is for clinical questions, not registries.
- Accidental entry of identifiable data can be reported to grievance@cynaps.co for sanitisation.
4. Prohibited uses
- Delivering unreviewed AI-generated advice, diagnoses, prescriptions or documents directly to patients.
- Using the Service without a valid, applicable professional registration where one is required.
- Attempting to bypass safety guardrails, extract training data, or probe other tenants' data.
- Entering data you have no lawful basis to process.
- Using outputs to make employment, insurance or credit decisions about individuals.
